    1. Here’s why cinephiles and photographers visit the Dryden: they screen gorgeous prints of the movies in the Eastman House collection, including Kubrick’s “Dr. Strangelove”.

I should be the winner mostly because no one is more excited to see the renovated Dryden or see Mr. Payne in person than I am! Also, I was the Events person at The Little for 4 years and tried (unsuccessfully) to bring Mr. Payne to the theatre for a Talkback to discuss his amazing work in film. And lastly, at present I cannot afford a ticket to the event financially but would just die to be there. Lastly, it is my birthday the week after if that helps at all haha. Congrats on the this amazing event!

I love the Dryden, personally, of course. I try to bring others with me that have never been, to help spread the joy the Dryden brings!

I may not know how to Tweet, but I certainly do know how to sing the praises of the George Eastman House and the Dryden Theater. Congratulations on this important project!

the reason I should be invited is that I would bring my 19 year old grandson with me. Two years ago when he was turning 17 I puchased two tickets to the film festival for he and I. We also went to the party after. Since then he has volunterred there as recently as a couple of weeks ago.
On mothers day 2012, after we had gone to the radisson for brunch and then to my Mothers grave the questions was posed where could we go know. He answered lets tour the Eastman house. So four families came down and toured the Eastman House. It would be a thrill for him to be at the opening. He is a second year student at MCC, on the campus advisory board and a ra.

Thanking you in advance for your consideration,
      Sandy Lehmann

Honestly, it’s not that I “should” be the winner: I just really want to be. I love Dryden and can’t wait to see the changes to this important piece of local history.

I would like to win because I love the Dryden, I love movies, and I am in need of an evening out that I couldn’t normally afford! Plus, I have that black organza dress sitting in my closet and need somewhere to wear it while it still fits…

I am a 30 year plus member of the Eastman House and a docent for 15 years. I attend the Dryden often with my husband and especially enjoy the silents with Philip Carli at the piano.

Greetings… We have been members of the Grand Geo. Eastman house for years and we love it there. We look forward to the new look and more years of enjoying the wonders of the house in our retirement years. Thank you much!!! Alex and Ginny Johnson

I should be the winner because I have been a long-time supporter of GEH and The Dryden and I would like to hear what Alexander Payne has to say. I have only seen three of his movies, and this could convince me to see more, or to see those three again.

The culmination of 33 years of working at Kodak will come to an end on February 28, 2013. I can not think of a more appropriate celebration than to attend the reopening of the Dryden Theater with my lovely wife. Raise the curtain and roll the film!

      24 Feb 2013 at 8:41 pm

    14. I am a member of GEH, attend Dryden frequently. Support GEH. As a long-time employ of Eastman Kodak Company, I have great interest in Mr. Eastman’s former home. Many of the publications that I authored are archived there. Also, many of the TV commercials that I coordinated and produced are archived in GEH.

I would be honored to receive tickets for the reopening of Dryden Theatre!

    15. I can’t remember the last time I have won anything. This would be a great one. I am a member & have been a fan of GEH & The Dryden for years

    16. As a professional spirits judge I love the movie sideways even though it’s about wine. The characters and issues are very similar in my field.
I also love the Dryden – but always hated the old seats for extended sitting – it was like a bad economy seat on a 3rd world aircraft in terms of comfort and legroom (but I would have loved to have bought a few old ones for decoration – but sadly no one thought of that idea I guess)
In any case, I went into serious withdrawal not having the Dryden available during the renovation and want my Dryden movie fix ASAP !

Why I should win? I LOVE the Dryden, a jewel in the Rochester art scene, and I would love to be a part of the grand re-opening!! Simple as that.

I love the Dryden and have missed it so much these past 2 months! Oscar night at the Little just wasn’t the same. I’ve been a member of the GEH since 1973, walk to the film showings, and only drink Pino Noir!

I moved to Rochester the week the Dryden closed. I’ve heard nothing but fabulous things about the theatre and think it would be pretty nifty if I won tickets and we started out what is sure to be a long term relationship in such an awesome manner.
